Grants from MakeWay Foundation
Grant Notification and Letter
There are a few ways in which a Coordinator may learn about a grant from the Foundation to a Shared Platform:
1. They receive the grant letter by email from the Senior Program Services Administrator (Mary). This happens when a grant is made to a project that does not need to be counter-signed by an authorized Society signatory.
2. They are copied on the grant letter in DocuSign. This happens when the grant agreement does require a signature from an authorized Society signatory.
3. The EFT appears in the Society Revenue folder in Box. If the EFT is received in the Society Revenue folder before you have received the Grant Letter, contact Mary to request the letter. This may happen during a particularly busy grant cycle when sending the letters might be slowed.
The easiest way to search for a Grant and Opportunity object in Salesforce is to search the Grant Number (GFXXXXX). From time to time the Award opportunity may be created before a Grant Number is issued, so also do a search of the project’s Opportunities if searching the Grant Number doesn’t yield any results. This will help reduce the chances of creating a duplicate opportunity. The EFT remittance will note both the Grant Number and project name.
In all cases, the Coordinator should forward the grant letter to the project, including any reporting templates if applicable.
