Toronto Police Services (TPS)

  1. Project completes Toronto Police Reference Check Waiver via DocuSign
  2. Project submits a request for a cheque for the cost of the reference check through Concur and coded to HR Recruitment
  3. Waiver is reviewed then printed according to TPS instructions at the Vancouver office

* Ensure it’s been completed correctly, witness signature and bottom left box are completed

  1. AP prints the cheque the following Thursday and couriers to signing authority for signature

* Cost for employees is $65, cost for volunteers is $20

  1. Signing authority mails the cheque and waiver to Toronto Police Services

Waiver Formatting Instructions

  • Application forms must be the exact same size and proportions as those issued by the Toronto Police Services

Tip: Must select Legal size in printer options, ‘None’ under Scale, and print on legal-sized paper.

  • The volunteer/employee signs and the signature of witness line should be an authorized MakeWay contact person
  • Only certified cheques, money orders, or business cheques made payable to Toronto Police Service will  be accepted for payment.

Specific Instructions for Together Project

  1. Check the Together Project vulnerable sector screening list weekly for new additions
  2. Copy the volunteer’s name and email into the Volunteer recipient fields in the DocuSign Template  called“Together Project TPS Waiver”
  3. Send for signature
