Close Date
The earliest date the revenue may reasonably expected to be received. In the absence of better information (e.g. specific proposal deadlines, giving history), set the Close Date according to these rules:
  • For Foundation renewals, one year following the date the donor’s gift was received last year.
  • For Foundation acquisitions, 18 months from the date the prospect is identified and the donation is created.
  • For Society, in the absence of a known payment date, set the Close Date for four months following the proposal submission date.
Primary Fund
  • Set to the project that is applying for the revenue.
    • Since the program area (or child fund) may not be known at the time the opportunity is created, select an ‘open’ child fund as a placeholder (usually the general operations child fund). Coding will be confirmed by the Project Specialist with the Project Director when the funds are confirmed.
