How to indicate that a donor gift can be potentially matched to a company gift
Enter your gift as you would any other gift, with the record type that best matches the original gift.
Matching Gift Information
- On the gift record, the Matching Gift Employer field is a text field that contains the name the donor told you would match
- Select Potential to indicate that you should get a matching gift. You may need to review the Company's matching gift policies to see if there is additional work you need to do to solicit the gift.
Linking Accounts
You will need to connect this record to the Account record of the company that will provide the matching gift. The lookup will automatically only look for company records where the Matching Status is Will Match. However you can click the link to search all accounts. You will need to create the account first before doing this step.
