Soft Credit Contacts from Organization Affiliations
If a contact should always receive soft credit from an Award that is made from an organization, you will need to create an organization affiliation between the two records. See Affiliating Contacts with Organization Accounts for more information.
New Account Opportunity
- From the organization account record click on Opportunities
- Then click on New Account Donation
Opportunity Record Type
- This functionality only works with the Award record type
New Opportunity
Fill in all the relevant fields for an Award
Contact Roles
Scroll down the the Contact Roles and Soft Credits section and you will see that the Soft Credit was automatically created for the affiliated contact(s)
Stopping Automatic Soft Credits
- Unchecking the Soft Credit Contact checkbox will stop creating soft credits for the affiliated contact when an Award is made by the organization
- Setting the Status to Former will stop creating soft credits for the affiliated contact when an Award is made by the organization
