Receipt and Acknowledgement Form

Core organizational policies

MakeWay has developed Core Organizational Policies and procedures to ensure we follow good business practices within the charitable sector. The primary purpose is to be clear about expectations for MakeWay workers (employees; contractors; and volunteers including members of project steering committees and the MakeWay board of directors). A second purpose of these policies and procedures is to protect the rights of all workers. A third purpose is to document the processes that MakeWay follows to deal with issues and concerns.

All workers are required to comply with the Core Organizational Policies of MakeWay. Failure to comply may result in corrective action up to and including dismissal, termination of the working/ contractual/ volunteer relationship or legal action.

Core organization policies receipt guidelines

MakeWay aims to create a consistent and fair workplace. To achieve this result we ask that all workers (employees; contractors; and volunteers including members of project steering committees and the MakeWay board of directors) understand and observe the policies included in the Core Organization Policies documents. The goal is to create a positive work environment for you and your colleagues and to provide mechanisms to deal with concerns or problems should they arise. As you will see from the steps below, MakeWay wants to be certain that you have a clear understanding and acceptance of the content in the core policies.

  1. It is your responsibility to read and understand MakeWay’s Core Organization Policies.
  2. If you do not understand or have questions about any of the Core Organization Policies, it is your responsibility to ask your supervisor or the MakeWay human resources representative or a member of MakeWay’s management team for clarification before signing the Receipt and Acknowledgment Form.
  3. If you have no questions, please sign the Core Organization Policies Receipt and Acknowledgment Form found on the next page and return the signed form to your supervisor or the MakeWay human resources representative or a member of MakeWay’s management team before the end of your first working week with MakeWay.

Note: From time to time, the need will arise to change our policies. If MakeWay amends, supplements, or rescinds any of the Core Organization Policies in any significant way, you will be advised of those changes through the appropriate channel. It is your responsibility to review such changes and request clarification if there is anything you do not understand.

I understand that MakeWay has the right to manage its workplace and direct its workers (employees; contractors; and volunteers including members of project steering committees and the MakeWay board of directors). I understand  that the Core Organization Policies contain general statements about the organization’s policies and procedures and are not intended to limit the organization’s discretion to manage its business in anyway. MakeWay reserves the right to depart from these general statements when warranted. Moreover, MakeWay has the right to revise, amend, add and/or delete any of its policies at any time and I understand that any significant changes to the Policies will be communicated to me through the appropriate channel and it is my responsibility to review such changes.
